The better the learning material is categorised, the easier it is to recall it later. But any organisation requires a certain amount of effort. Vocabulary can be grouped according to subject areas, factual topics can be divided into headings and subheadings. Learning posters and overview maps that you make yourself are easy to use. Mind maps are a classic. These are made in landscape format and resemble a tree trunk with branches. In the middle, the central theme is named, from which the sub-themes such as branches and their further aspects such as twigs grow. Colours, drawings, humorous and creative associations, everything is allowed. Such a subjective memory map is well suited for repeating what has been learned. For more complex subjects, however, more detailed overviews with small information blocks are often more helpful.
