What is the difference between memory and recollection?

Memories are located in the memory, i.e. memories are experienced situations that are stored there. However, this process takes a long time, because if you have experienced something, e.g. an accident, you will say something different about it two weeks later than the next day. Memories therefore change, they are supplemented by similar situations, for example, so that one memory overlaps the other. For example, grandparents sometimes tell different stories than you remember.
