Exercises for short-term memory

    Simple exercises that you can do in between to train your short-term memory. For example, when you are at a red light, you can think about how many more crossings there are until you get to the office. You can memorise a short text or a poem every day. Repeat important telephone numbers in your head every day. When you are standing at the checkout in the supermarket, you can try to estimate in your head how much the bill will be. Keep singing along to songs, because you will learn the lyrics little by little. Consciously put down everyday objects such as your smartphone, glasses or keys so that you can remember where you put them the next time you look for them. Look at a detailed picture in a magazine for a few seconds and then try to remember as many details as possible when the picture is no longer visible. Spelling longer words in reverse order.
