Learning foreign languages: Just sing along

The pronunciation of a foreign language is a big hurdle for many students – in French even more than in German. You hear yourself speak, and it doesn’t sound right, somehow funny. So you’d rather say nothing than embarrass yourself. Big mistake! Because you only learn a language by speaking it. What’s missing is practice. Without practice, you don’t dare to speak – a vicious circle. So if you blush in front of the class, you should practice at home. This has the additional advantage that you can use the most effective ways to immerse yourself in the pronunciation of the foreign language: singing, rhyming, rapping – anything that reinforces the sound of words is good.

Tip: Children’s poems and songs are excellent for beginners.
