Build a schedule for learning

    Sprache lernen im Vorübergehen! Lernposter

A schedule for learning can and will help you and your child in the best possible way. It is not necessary to use all of your child’s free time for learning. On the contrary. Learning material properly divided and managed, by the way, can be learned practically anytime and anywhere.

Find out together with your child how big the learning effort will be. Where is the problem, what exams are coming up in the near future? This will enable you to plan optimally. Respond to your child, how does he or she prefer to learn? Does he or she like to sit and learn, or is he or she more the active type? If so, index cards, for example, are also ideal for learning on the go, on the playground or during a walk.

One must not forget: Learning is not only important today, but in the long term. Find out together which days are best for learning. For example, days when school finishes early, or days when school is relatively easy. Leisure activities are of course to be planned, so the plan consists not only of duties, but is well mixed with the joys of leisure.

Really make a proper plan, it is enough to have a big sheet for it, which is pinned on the wall. On this plan, everything that comes up is noted. After the learning units, it is noted how it was worked on for a long time. If learning was done on the way, this is also written down. An approximate time indication is then also sufficient. Timely planning for exams is also extremely important. Enter in the plan in good time the samples or school tasks that are due, so that it is foreseeable how much time must be spent on the special learning. You will now study in a targeted manner until the day of the exam. But be careful: Only until the day before. No more on the actual exam day, that is no longer of any use. By the way, the day before is perfect to go through the knowledge. Is the child fit? Are there still small gaps? Then fill them in, there is still time. Of course, as always, don’t put any pressure on yourself, just take it easy.

If, for whatever reason, your child doesn’t come to study, immediately make a note on the schedule for a follow-up appointment. It’s simply important to maintain a certain rhythm in order to achieve the best results. If you stick to fixed schedules, there is simply a lot to be gained. Really little time is then enough to learn effectively. The child simply becomes really mentally fit as a result. And since it also has enough free time, it has to spare little to nothing. Perfect to simply take the unnecessary pressure off the whole learning time.

Over what period of time should the learning plan go? As long as it pleases! If there is no desire to see the whole school year ahead, then simply create weekly or even monthly plans. In these, everything is simply entered that is due in the following week or month. Here, too, the free times must be entered, of course. And at the end of the week or month, the “completed” plan can be taken down and the results achieved can be enjoyed. Such learning periods may also be celebrated a little, for example by doing something together to celebrate the successful work. You will see that if everything is properly planned and carried out, the learning period is a pleasure and remains so. Planning is important for life. So it’s worth starting early.
