A positive and dynamic self-image and self-confidence are cornerstones for learning success. A child who knows his or her strengths and has learned to use them purposefully has an easier time facing new challenges and sticking with them even when obstacles arise. “Mistakes” are seen as learning opportunities and are allowed. By learning mindfulness and self-regulation, a child will grow personally, handle stress better, and be more motivated to learn. Goal setting also plays an important role in this process. It is therefore important to set achievable yet challenging goals together with your child and support them in achieving them. In this way, learning becomes fun and is experienced with more ease.

For many children, learning and exams are associated with stress and negative feelings. This does not have to be the case! Important questions are: What do I think about learning? How do I see myself? What goals do I have and what am I willing to do to achieve them? These are questions that have a great influence on school success. This helps children and young people to build a positive and dynamic self-image and to trust their own abilities, even under pressure. Strong children and adolescents master learning and school more readily and easily.
